Programs of Study

At BRYSS Academy P-TECH, the Architecture & Construction and Manufacturing Career Clusters provide students with rigorous, hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for high-demand, high-skill careers in industry. Through a structured and coherent sequence of courses aligned to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) CTE Framework, students gain both technical expertise and real-world application.

Our Programs of Study in Architectural Drafting & Design and Welding Technology are designed in partnership with industry leaders and institutions of higher education, ensuring students graduate college-, career-, and workforce-ready.

Architectural Drafting & Design

Students in the Architectural Drafting & Design program of study develop technical, creative, and problem-solving skills. Students learn how building are designed, documented, and constructed while gaining hands-on experience using industry-standard drafting and design software with opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials. 

Coherent Sequence (TEA-Aligned):

  • 9th Grade (Level 1): Principles of Architecture (1 credit) (Fall/Spring)

  • 10th Grade (Level 2): Architectural Design I (Fall/Spring)
  • 10th Grade (Level 2): Computer-Aided Drafting for Architecture (Fall/Spring)
  • 11th Grade (Level 3): Architectural Design II (Fall/Spring)
  • 11th Grade (Level 3): Architectural Engineering (Fall/Spring)

  • 12th Grade (Level 4): Practicum in Architectural Design (Fall/Spring)
  • 12th Grade (Level 4): Practicum in Architectural Design + Extended Practicum in Architectural Design (Fall/Spring)

Welding Technology

Students in the Welding Technology program of study develop foundational and advanced skills in metal fabrication, joining processes, blueprint reading, and safety procedures. This program emphasizes industry-based certifications, hands-on lab experiences, and mentorship from experienced professionals.
